Mauchline Primary School and Nursery Class
- The Big Pedal
Mauchline Primary School are taking part in the Big Pedal 2012. The Big Pedal is a giant inter-school cycling competition happening in schools all across the UK from 5-23 March 2012. It’s powered by UK charity Sustrans and funded by the Bike Hub.
The Junior Road Safety Officers have chosen three dates for our school to get involved; Tuesday 6th March, Thursday 15th March and Wednesday 21st March. We are encouraging pupils and their parents/carers to either cycle to school or travel by scooter. Remember to wear a cycle helmet and to follow the safety rules when inside the school grounds. We have two bike sheds to safely store the bikes and scooters.
We are always looking for ways to encourage pupils to become healthier, improve the environment and reduce school gate parking issues.

- Rag Bag Collection
Primary 6 would like to thank everyone who brought in a Rag Bag. We collected 428 kg of textiles, which will raise £214.00 for the school funds. This is a bit more than our last collection so well done. Just to remind everyone that we have the textile recycling bin in the playground and clothes, etc. can be put in there at any time. Bags are available from primary 6.
Thanks again
Primary 6 & Mrs Scarisbrick
