Mauchline bypass not a priority - do you beg to differ?
28 JuneGiving Mauchline a bypass is not a top priority, according to local MSP Adam Ingram, despite 10,000 vehicles a day passing through Mauchline Cross.
The Cumnock Chronicle reported this week that the SNP MSP for Carrick Cumnock and Doon Valley had said that while he's happy to lobby for a bypass for Mauchline it "isn't the priority right now, given the limited resources available".
But Mauchline Community Council has said the village is "in desperate need of it" and East Ayrshire Council has identified the bypass as a priority to alleviate severe congestion and reduce accidents on the A76 through the village and to aid local businesses.
What do you think? Times are hard - should we have to wait? Or should the Scottish Government make a bypass for Mauchline top priority. Have your say below!
