Mauchline Youth Group deliver 'Stay Safe Online' message
13 OctoberKeep safe when browsing the internet - that’s the message that Mauchline Youth group wants to get across to youngsters.
And a bright, informative poster designed by members Marissa Trimble and Linsey Sharp will do just that.
Young people from across East Ayrshire attended this year’s Community Learning and Development Youth Conference, which had the theme of staying safe online. Youngsters were given the opportunity to design a poster to promote internet safety, for display in communities across East Ayrshire.
Marissa and Linsey’s winning poster will be on show in schools, community venues, libraries, leisure facilities, police stations and NHS facilities.
Both girls – third year pupils at Auchinleck Academy and members of Mauchline Youth Group - won Odeon cinema vouchers for their poster design.
Kay Gilmour, Head of Community Support, said: “Congratulations to Marissa and Linsey for their excellent work on this poster, which clearly promotes our message and which will form part of our Anti-Bullying and Safe Internet Use campaign. This fits with the recently launched Respect and Protect Anti-Bullying Policy and the ongoing work of the Child Protection Committee”.
