£4m road improvements on A76 that will include Mauchline in the news

BBC News is reporting about the £4m series of improvements due to begin in the coming weeks on the A76 in Ayrshire.

The first phase will see rebuilding work on the road either side of New Cumnock. Once complete, work will then start at Mauchline to replace almost one mile of carriageway.

Both projects are expected to last for about 12 weeks. Most of the work at Mauchline is due to be completed during the school holiday period. The A76 in Mauchline is used by about 10,000 motorists each day.
